Being at the top of the local search on Google can be a tremendous opportunity to get new patients and dominate your local market. This allow you to be at the of Google Maps or the “7 Pack” for keywords in your area like ” Dentist in Your city” …this is a huge leveraging point for any dental practice.
BUT Your Google Business listing might be subject to spamming, fraud and other security issues. The rule of thumb here is to claim your listing so you have some control over what goes on in your listing. This doesn’t mean that you are fully armed and ready to fight the bad guys on the web!! You are going to want to monitor the action on the web almost weekly, that is why here at Local Search For Dentists we do our best to monitor our clients information so there is less of a chance of the “bad guys” getting through.
So do me this favor go and check your Google listing ASAP!!! And make sure no one is causing you unnecessary headaches…and that all the data is correct and in the right categories and not spam. This can get you removed from Google all together or worse yet your web site or contact information is hacked and/or not correct, so patients trying to contact your dental practice can’t get through to you. Don’t ignore this it is major problem!
One more tip is to make sure you don’t have a a duplicate listing this causes you to be un- ranked and Google will remove you!
This is the worst case scenario but a competitive AND UNETHICAL dentist in your area puts multiple listings for their practice at your address..terrible I know but the end result is you lose rankings and worse yet… because Google thinks you have multiple listings your getting banned or removed!!!!
So the best bet is to check everything…..and make sure all the information is claimed and correct. Don’t let patients go elsewhere!
