I started working with a Great Dentist in Virginia…and I’ll leave his name anonymous because of confidentiality reasons, but for the sake of this post let’s call him “Dr. H”. Well I noticed that when I was digging in and taking over his multiple listings (clear violation of Google policy) that he had over 8 listings!! He didn’t know this was against the rules and sometimes Google actually creates these multiple listings, which goes against their very own rules. So some of this was not his fault, but I immediately informed him that we had to act fast before Google wipes him out!
So that very morning my team went in to tackle this large task and BAM! Google deleted all but one of “Dr. H’s” listings…gone forever! So if you don’t think this can happen to you, you are dead wrong…it happens everyday. Luckily we were able recover from this because we were monitoring his listings and now he is on the correct path.
So the moral of the story is check your listings, make sure you’re within the guidelines of Google policy (which can be tricky and a pain!) BUT make sure you monitor them weekly. This prevents hackers, spammers, and other competitive dentists from killing your listings on Google!
